Spotlight on PPE Volunteers

Desmond Tutu once said, “Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

Certainly these inspirational words are what we need right now and they describe the good work of volunteers who are assisting the libraries in the creation of PPE.

Angel and Michael Warkentin are community volunteers who have been helping to print face shield parts to donate to the medical workers in Utah. Michael is a Systems Architect and Manager at MX and Angel is a Cloud Engineer at Adobe. Angel, who at one time worked at the Marriott Library in the IT department, was happy to join her former co-workers in helping out toward the cause.

Angel and Michael purchased their own 3D printer after Angel saw the printers the Marriott Library first acquired in 2013. “We usually use our printer for crafts and hobbies, but it’s great to put it to use for a bigger purpose,” explains Angel. “We are happy to be able to help out locally during these interesting times!”

Angel and Michael Warkentin have joined the libraries in producing parts for PPE that will be given to health care workers.
