Celebrating Women’s History with Susan Barbara Tallmon Sargent Collection

Since March is women’s history month, I thought I would take the opportunity to share the Susan Barbara Tallmon Sargent Collection. Sargent was a medical missionary in China, and her collection, detailed in this finding aid, contains a variety of manuscript materials including correspondence, journals, clippings, and reports.

Ken Rockwell, who developed the metadata for the collection, also created a biographical and genealogical guide to the collection with even more detail about the families and people represented in these materials. The digitized collection provides access to 800 primary source documents for anyone interested in researching about early women doctors and medical missions in China.
